Biography

From a young age, Lashen Dharmadasa was exposed to music through his piano teacher, who taught him classical piano when he was 7 years old. As he grew older, he became influenced by artists such as King Gnu and Ichika Nito and decided that he wanted to move people's hearts with just one instrument. However, he found that the system of playing the piano was too boring, and the number of performers in the industry was too great. So Lashen decided to switch to guitar.

Rock and Jazz have had a significant influence on Lashen Dharmadasa since he was young, and he could play every song on King Gnu's second album, "Sympa", with enthusiasm. In college, he was studying engineering and plans to pursue graduate studies in 2026.

He began writing original songs in high school at Geelong, Australia, and although he was mostly self-taught in both composition and performance, he found ways to express himself creatively through techniques such as tapping and playing with both hands. His songwriting process typically involves expressing each part in his head with the guitar and recording them before building them into a song. He also emphasizes that recording is typically done in one take, which can be time-consuming but ensures the best possible performance.

Music Career

In 2022, Lashen Dharmadasa began playing in his school's band, KIC Brass, as their funk rythmn guitarist. He also started a band called The Midnights with his drummer friend Nikan Abdi. In June 2024, he joined his school's Adams Family production as the guitarist and it pushed him to practice to drastically improve his guitar skills.

By July 2024, after had met Charlton Lewin and Johan Vineeth, he gained a fond interest in producing and rapping. During one of their meet ups, the group decided to play music in Lashen's band room, and they realised they all had a strong musical bond.

After recording their first song for fun, Uno! Dos! Tres! in August 2024, Lashen decided to start learning how to mix and produce better, downloading Cubase and FL Studio and experimenting heavily into the night, often pulling several all nighters.

In November 2024, he formed The B4 Band with Charlton Lewin and Johan Vineeth and released their first proper single, Uno! Dos! Tres! Remastered and Rollercoaster in the same month. In January 2025, The B4 Band's debut album B4 Day One was released and Lashen produced, rapped and played guitar in the album.

His impressive musical accomplishments and talents continue to bring him higher in the world of music and he hopes to become a mainstream producer and famous guitarist some day.
